Drawing again, at 37

Only child, mother working nights, awake at 2am aged five when a documentary about Tex Avery and the early Disney animators came on. A light bulb went off that said, that's what I should do when I grow up — it was like a get-out-of-this-life card. First art museum at 17, then years as a low-brow surrealist collector. I started drawing again at 37, when Stella was five and being encouraged to draw, and the people around me finally supported it.
